They include an environmental management system, monitoring the VOC emission ratings from the printing process (i.e. inks, coatings, cleaning solutions, dampening solutions, glues), where possible selecting minimal or no VOC emissions, eliminating film by using digital to plate printing, choice of vegetable inks with uncoated paper where possible, avoiding metallic and fluorescent inks (these contain heavy metals), recommending aqueous varnish over UV coatings and plastic laminates, choosing water based glues, recycle and separate solid waste (i.e. paper off-cuts, cardboard, printing plates, ink containers, cleaning rags, palettes, screens and metals).
